What does Saman Global do?
Saman Global Private Limited is a Kolkata-based group with four businesses: Saman Tea, Saman Oil, Saman Steel and Saman Agro FMCG. We source, process, pack and export to buyers in more than 30 countries.
How long has Saman been in business?
Since 1918. The company began as a tea enterprise in Assam and is today run by the fourth generation of the founding family.
Where are your offices?
Our headquarters is in Kolkata, India, with group companies in Mombasa (Kenya), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Estonia. See Global Presence.
Ordering & samples
How do I request a quotation?
Use the enquiry form, email sales@samantea.com or message us on WhatsApp with the product, grade, quantity, packing and destination port.
Can I get samples?
Yes — for tea in particular, we share samples for approval before contracting. Please tell us your target cup or specification.
Do you share specifications and lab reports?
Yes. Specifications, and laboratory reports where applicable, are shared alongside our quotations.
Tea
Which teas do you supply?
Bulk CTC and Orthodox teas from India and from Ceylon, African and Vietnamese origins; tea bags and loose-tea packs; flavoured teas; and instant tea.
Do you offer private-label tea?
Yes. We blend and pack tea bags (paper envelope and service types), loose tea from 25 g to 10 kg, pouches, cartons and tins under your brand.
What are Selavi and Tevo?
Our own brands. Selavi offers teas, tins and beverages for supermarkets in India and Europe; Tevo is our instant tea for India and the Middle East.
Oil, steel & agro
What packing do you offer for sunflower oil?
PET bottles in 5-ply export master cartons — for example 20 × 1 L — with other formats on request, under the Saman brand or private label with English/Arabic labelling.
Which steel products do you supply?
TMT bars and rebar, HR and CR coils and sheets, structural steel, pipes and wire rods — produced and sourced to customised specifications for domestic and export markets. See our Steel page.
Which agro products do you export?
Rice, soya, lentils, pulses and other everyday staples, sourced from established mills and processors and packed to suit your market.
Shipping
Where do you ship from?
From the Saman hub nearest to you — India, Kenya, Vietnam or Estonia — to optimise freight, transit time and freshness.
Why might my invoice come from a different Saman company?
Invoices may be issued by different group entities depending on where the shipment originates.
Is cargo inspected before shipment?
Yes. Independent surveyors inspect every package of tea that leaves the company, and pre-shipment inspection is arranged for other products as agreed.
